Anil Kumble was born on 17 October 1970 in Bangalore, Karnataka.
He made his first test debut against England in 1990 and ODI debut against Sri Lanka in 1989/90. He is the highest wicket taker of India.
Anil Kumble is without doubt India's greatest spinner of all time. He has taken more than 550 wickets. He is one of only two bowlers ever to have taken all 10 wickets in a test innings.
He studied Mechanical Engineering at BMSCE in Bangalore. He is married to Chethana Ramatheertha.
