Brian Charles Lara was born on May 2, 1969 in Cantaro, Santa Cruz, Trinidad and Tobago. He is also know with his nick name "The Prince of Port-of-Spain".
He is one of the greatest batsmen of all-time. he made his first test debut against pakistan in 1990/91 and ODI debut against same country in 1990/91.
Lara holds several world records for high scoring. He has the highest individual score in both first-class cricket(501 not out for Warwickshire against Durham in 1994) and Test cricket (400 not out for the West Indies against England in 2004).
On 19th April,2007 he has announced his retirement from Test and ODI International cricket.
