Rahul was born on January 11, 1973 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He grew up in Bangalore, Karnataka. His full name is Rahul Sharad Dravid, Rahul did his graduation from St. Joseph’s College of Commerce. He is married to Vijetha Pendharkar, she is a doctor from Nagpur.
He is the current captain of the Indian cricket team. Rahul is one of only 3 Indian batsmen to have scored 9,000 runs in test cricket and became the 6th player in history and only the 3rd Indian 10,000 runs in ODI cricket.
He is also know by his nickname Jammy and The Wall. He made his test debut against England in 1996 and ODI debut against Sri Lanka In the same year.
In the world of cricket Rahul is known for his consistent batting. He is one of the best defensive batsmen India could ever produce. He has been honored with the Arjuna Award.
