Saurav Ganguly was born in a affluent family on 8 July 1972, in Kolkata, West Bengal.
He is also know by “prince of Calcutta”, the name given by his fan following. Ganguly is one of the richest Indian cricketers of recent times. Sourav's first interest was to become football player and he played in the school football team for four years. But later he shifted to cricket and joined a cricket.
Sourav Ganguly the former Captain of the Indian Cricket team. Ganguly is a left-handed batsman and a right-handed medium-pace bowler. he is the most successful captain of Indian team even he holds a record of most test victories.
He is married to Dona, who was a next-door neighbour to the Ganguly family.
